I spent last weekend in Barcelona with Danny. It was amazing and beautiful! The pictures do not do any of it justice. Especially the Sagrada Familia. For those of you who don't know, the Sagrada Familia is a church designed by the architect Gaudi. And it has been my dream to see it in person ever since I first learned about it (at least 10 years ago). I was so overcome I almost cried. It is more beautiful than any picture could ever convey.
This first picture is a statue of Christopher Columbus. Rumor has it that is ancestors are from Catalunya (Barcelona) and not from Italy.
The next picture is of the cathedral (not the Gaudi church). Unfortunately, this was all we could see, as the facade was under construction and covered by a big red tarp.
The next picture is Danny in front of a taylors shop, which happens to share his name. The last name Deulofeu is from Catalunya (a region in spain) and this particular taylor is very famous. Dayni's grandparents on his mothers side were from Catalunya.
This is a picture of the art museum on top of Mont Juit. We were a little intimidated by how many stairs there were to climb. But once we got closer, we saw they actually have escalators!

(Okay, it doesn't look like that many stairs.... but we are alread more than halfway up at this point!)
The next picture is Danny and me sitting on one of the main boulevards that is extensively decorated for Christmas.
Here I am on a bench designed by Gaudi, in front of one of the houses he designed.
This is the house behind me
We are actually touching the gaudi house! We are both so excited! (ps thanks to the friendly strangers who took the picture)
Here is the second gaudi house...even more
impresionante than the first!
La Sagrada Familia. Pictures will never do it justice. You must come.

And finally, me braving the cold, cold water of the mediterranian just so I can say I was in it. Cold as can be, but none the less amazing and beautiful!
